Speaker Bio:

Phil began his corporate career in 1982 when he accepted his first job with The Prudential. Within a few months of starting his new job, he came out as a gay man to his colleagues and managers. While he expected to be terminated for coming out, he went on to work for The Prudential for 18 years as an openly gay man.

Phil's sexual orientation was not a hindrance to his achieving numerous advancements in his career that included being promoted from a front-line employee to a manager during his tenure.

Phil was among the first to come out and stay out in his career at a time when it had the potential for ending a career. As a result of being aware of the risks associated with being out, he became a vocal ally and advocate for other members of the LGBTQ community and other minorities.

Phil developed his leadership style while working for many prominent Fortune 500 companies and through the lens of being a white gay male in organizations that were populated heavily with women and minorities. He understands the value of his experiences and perspectives and openly shares them in support of others.

Phil is passionate about leadership and culture. During his corporate career, he served as a change agent bringing about the significant transformations that supported others in achieving their career goals.

Phil has the skills, knowledge, and attributes to encourage engagement, effectiveness, and efficiencies with his clients and their organizations. He relies extensively on his nearly 40 years of experience to support others as they pursue their career development goals.
