Description:

It is the age old question for coaches “should I niche or not?. “ Although there are examples of successful coaches who don’t have a clearly defined market niche when we look at the thriving coaches that are MOST successful, they almost always have a clear Niche and Ideal Client within that Niche. More importantly, by narrowing our focus, we can have an even deeper impact on our clients and create greater transformation in the world, which in turn makes you much more referable. In today’s ever changing environment, being niche focused will help deepen your client experience and demonstrate that coaching is an essential ingredient in their success (not a “nice to have”). This presentation will help demystify the concept of Niche and help overcome common misconceptions that hold coaches back from taking the deep dive into a niched coaching practice.

In this presentation you will learn:

  • The three aspects of a true Niche (because only a true Niche adds significant value to you and your clients)
  • How choosing a true Niche can elevate your coaching value proposition and be seen as “essential” to your Ideal Client.
  • The common misconceptions about Niche and what’s really true
  • The benefits to you AND your clients to choosing a niche
  • How to begin your exploration of potential niches so you choose a niche where you AND your potential client are “leaning in”
  • How to establish credibility in your market niche

Whether you are currently niche-less or have already put a stake in the ground around your niche, this presentation will help you refine your ideal client and your process to attract more prospective clients and make a deeper impact with the clients who hire you.

Speaker Bio:

Tara Butler Floch, PCC, CPCC

Since 2000 Tara’s passion for helping entrepreneurs has empowered hundreds of coaches to create and up-level sustainable, profitable and joyous businesses.

For the first 10 years of her coaching practice, Tara worked primarily with Executives, helping them and their teams perform together at the highest level. After helping so many of her Executive clients leave their jobs to start their own successful coaching & consulting practices, Tara realized she loved helping experts sprout their entrepreneurial wings. So many great practitioners simply don’t know how to translate their successful craft into a successful business. She now focuses on established, experienced coaches and “coach-sultants” who are ready to uplevel and scale their income without working so damn hard. She loves that by working with professional coaches, she gets to exponentially widen her ripple effect of change in the world.

Tara was first introduced to coaching in 1995 after rising into an executive role at PhotoDisc where she ran their worldwide Sales & Service organization for 4 years. When she was awarded the promotion, she didn’t feel “ready” and feared the impact of being promoted over her peers and leading a combined team of 80 people at the tender age of 26. She initially struggled until she hired a coach to help her navigate the new and tricky waters. She found that it significantly impacted her ability to lead her team effectively, foster her personal and professional relationships, and, most importantly, feel confident that she was the right person for the role. She became hooked on coaching and has had a coach herself ever since. It was a major step in what has unfolded into a life-long pursuit of learning and growth. After PhotoDisc merged with Getty Images, bringing the company Public, Tara went on to have several Executive Roles there and at Who’s Calling before realizing she wanted to merge her passion for business with her love of personal development by starting Broadview Coaching. She thrives on helping others overcome obstacles and realize their highest potential. It drew her to become a Board Member of The Excellence Foundation, a non-profit organization that offers personal development programs, and later became their Executive Director for over a year.

Tara is a Certified Professional Co-active Coach (CPCC) through The Coaches Training Institute (CTI) and a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) through the International Coaching Federation. She is also a graduate of the CTI Coaching Program and CTI year long Leadership Program and assisted the Leadership Program twice with the founders of CTI. She was certified in the Archetype Alignment Grid in 2015. Tara has a B.A. from Kenyon College and a certification in Business from University of Washington. She is also a contributor to the book “Fresh Start Moments” with best selling author, Bob Danzig.

In the past several years, Tara has chosen to work with only 14 clients at a time and less than 20 hours a week so she can spend more of her time with her son, Connor, who chose to come into the world unexpectedly and delightfully when Tara (and her husband Eric) was 46 years old. They spend hours in the garden every day on their 3 acre property in Sebastopol, CA, with their hands in the dirt, gathering eggs from their chickens, picking yet another zucchini, and catching frogs in their pond.
