The week of May 17-23, 2021 coaches and ICF chapters around the globe will offer events and activities dedicated to celebrate our profession. ICF San Antonio will continue its tradition of quality programming, service to the community, and networking opportunities.

Our goals are to:

  1. Educate the greater San Antonio community on the positive impact of professional coaching in people, organizations, and society at large, and the possibilities coaching provides;
  2. Strengthen the presence and visibility of coaching in the greater San Antonio area;

    From Reality to Possibility: How Coaches and Organizations Reconcile with Reality And Create What's Next

    Industries across the board are grappling with how to sustain in the current realities. From budget challenges to employee burnout to virtual communication, the organizational load is staggering. Join this panel event to learn how the military, healthcare, higher education, and non-profit leaders from across Texas are leveraging coaching to navigate the current social and economic climate.

    Facilitated by ICF San Antonio Past-President, Carissa Gay, MCC, this panel will highlight how leaders can help their teams move from reality to possibility.

    Panelists: - Alicyn Yarborough, CEO of A Glimmer of Hope (Austin) - Steven Sosland, Chief People Officer at Texas Tech University (North Texas) - Brig. Gen. Laura Lenderman of Joint Base San Antonio (San Antonio) - Dr. Julianne Cenac, Executive Director of Talent Development at UT Health (Houston)

    Leveraging the Power of Coaching & Change Management to Navigate Disruption Change: Re-Opening after COVID

    The Association of Change Management Professionals (ACMP) and the International Coaching Federation (ICF) have been proactively exploring the numerous synergies between change management and coaching, particularly the power of coaching in organizational change initiatives. For this exploration, the ACMP and ICF formed a task force – one of the results of this taskforce is this panel series, Leveraging Coaching & Change Management to Navigate Disruption.

    This webinar will take place on May 19, 2021, at 12 noon (New York) on the topic of Re-Opening after COVID-19. Expert practitioners in change management and coaching will share how they are supporting organizations to pivot to virtual, re-open offices, or embrace a new hybrid approach and how they support employees and leaders to address physical and psychological safety and adapt to the new way(s) of working.

    Register Now on the ACMP Site.

    From Reality to Possibility Community Outreach:

    Starting on May 19, ICF San Antonio will increase its community support through pro-bono coaching by assisting young adults who have been disqualified from Air Force boot camp due to physical or mental conditions.

    Because many of them possess a degree, are fluent in a language other than English, or are equipped with on-demand skills,  they can join the D.R.I.V.E. program. This program is designed to transform these young men and women with unique sets of skills into viable civil service applicants, thereby keeping the talent within the Department of Defense. Unfortunately, not all youth qualify for civil service and will need additional support to make important decisions regarding their future.

    ICF San Antonio’s D.R.I.V.E. Transition Pro-Bono Coaching will transform these young people’s lives by helping them develop goals, access resources that they may find difficult to navigate, increase their level of self-confidence, and take the necessary steps toward planning a path from their current reality to what’s possible in their future.

    To learn more about this opportunity, an orientation session will be held on Thursday, May 13 from 6:00 to 6:45 PM via Zoom. Registration is free.

    Sign up to become a D.R.I.V.E. Transition Pro-Bono Coach!

    Conversations that Create and Sustain Change

    Coaching is a dynamic partnership that creates intrinsic motivation for sustained change. As organizations look at fostering effective change, coaching provides a conversational approach that facilitates trust, ownership, and innovation.

    As part of the global celebration of International Coaching Week, we are thrilled to host Teresa Pool, MCC for a live coaching demonstration along with an interactive debrief by Carissa Gay, MCC to highlight the key coaching competencies used. You'll learn coaching skills that you can immediately use to be a catalyst for change.

    Participants will learn coaching skills to:

    • Create partnership in every aspect of the conversation
    • Ask whole person questions that evoke awareness
    • Design action for sustained change

    From Reality to Possibility Connection: Let’s Create the Buzz!

    In order to generate awareness and excitement for ICW, members and friends of the chapter are encouraged to create one-minute video testimonials between now and May 17th, post on their personal social media channels, and tag ICF San Antonio so we can in turn post on the chapter’s social media channels.

    Here are a few ideas for one-minute videos:

    • Explain what is professional coaching and what drew you into the field of coaching;

    • Explain your field of expertise or niche, and provide examples of the work you do;

    • Tell how you apply coaching in or as part of your professional work;

    • Describe your favorite tip for a current coach or someone contemplating getting into the coaching profession;

    • Describe the most valuable lesson you have learned as a coach.
